How To Totally Remove Flight Sim X Before a Clean Re-Install

To cut a long story short (see BTW below) I had to completely remove and
re-install FSX & Acceleration last week. Only problem was that I think that
the "completely remove" bit didn't work properly and I'm left with a few
annoying issues. I've managed to find work arounds for most of them, but I'm
left with one problem, I need to set "Run As Administrator" in the shortcut
to run FSX, or else it complains about being unable to update the Scenery
Indices etc. and shuts down. I'd like to do a proper delete and re-install if
someone can tell how to purge all traces of it from my system. I'm running 32
bit Vista Home Premium.

BTW - I lost all connectivity to the Internet after I'd installed
Acceleration to my FSX folder located on D: drive (the latest Norton IS2007
Auto update did something that prevent my computer talking to my ADSL
router). I was forced to recover a Acronis Image of my C: drive, which was
based on the SP1 version of FSX so I ended up with a pre-Acceleration C:
Drive and Registry mixed with a post -Acceleration D: drive which didn't get
on well together. I tried removing FSX to do a clean install, but I'm pretty
sure that it didn't work properly - FSX never disappeared from the "Remove
Programs" applet in Control Pane despite several attempts, and on re-install
I was never asked to enter the FSX product key - so despite my best efforts
at removing it there must be several remaining links left in the Registry, or
in hidden files on the system

Thanks in advance,
