Vista - Card Game Problems

I am encountering a graphics glitch in all card games (Free Cell, Solitaire,
and Spider Solitaire) where the card the cursor is over will highlight, and
the card usually to the left of the cursor will have a blinking highlight
around it. It's similar to what happens when you request a hint, but
constant instead of momentary. I also have problems with the drop down menus
going spastic whenever selected and with the exit options not interacting
with the mouse cursor. When the mouse hovers over the selection (Play Again
or Exit, for exampe) it will highlight, but clicking produces no action. I
have to highlight my selection and then hit the enter key to exit.

Initially I thought this was the result of upgrading my graphics driver.
After several uninstalls and reinstalls of different versions, I no longer
think this is the problem.

Possibly related is an issue with dxdiag. Whenever run it encounters a
problem accessing DirectShow. If I choose to proceed the diagnostic tool
stops working and closes.

I have been searching for a solution to this exact same problem and have not had any luck finding a solution. It doesn't look like anyone ever responded to this person's post and I need the solution. Did you ever find a solution or does anyone out there know how to fix this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my mouse driver (MX Revolution) and disabling all TSR programs that aren't necessary. This happens whether I have any other programs running or not. Very frustrating! Please help!
