Re: Halo 2

It'll probably work.

Make sure your drivers are all up to date, the Halo 2 webpage lists these
requirements:

OS: Windows Vistaâ„¢
Processor: 2 Ghz Pentium 4 class processor (or x64)
RAM: 1 GB
Hard Drive: 7 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA 6100, ATI X700, or above
Online Multi-player: Internet connection for Games for Windows – LIVE
Drive: DVD-ROM drive

So you should be fine., the 2Ghz is for a single core processor, it might
run a little slow, but drop down the resolution a bit and the game should be
playable.

Most likely the biggest problem will be the video. Halo2 has some
serious graphics demands...

No, it doesn't. The game textures and models in Halo 2 are like what 3 years
old? It'll run just fine. I'm running it now on my A215-S4767, same video
card/cpu.

Re: Halo 2

The Halo 2 PC product only supports Windows Vista. This was a limitation of
the early version of Games for Windows Live, and a choice made by the
publisher, Microsoft Game Studios. Technologically, it's an Xbox original /
DirectX version 8 game.

A nice alternative to Halo 2 PC is Halo 1 PC, almost the same game, and
there are user created maps from Halo 2 you can download.

Re: Halo 2

Any test advisor to run on my VISTA to check if my pc configuration meets
the requirement?
I am afraid my video card is not good enough.

Re: Halo 2

Actually you'd be better off saving your money since the game itself isn't
that great. A port of an old game that should have been upgraded for the PC
but was pushed out and overpriced to make a fast buck.

Re: Halo 2

Dual core not supported. Your cpu is too slow. A 1.3 GHZ dual core cpu does not mean you have the performance of a 2.6 GHZ- Each core ONLY performs at 1.3 GHZ. Game requires minimum of 2.0 GHZ.

Operating system
Windows Vista
Computer processor
2.0 gigahertz (GHz)
Memory
1 gigabyte (GB) or random access memory (RAM)
Hard disk space
7 GB of available hard disk space. The dedicated server and the map editor require more hard disk space.
Video card
ATI X700 or Nvidia 6100 display adapter with 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM and the following features:

Pixel shader: 2 or higher

Vertex shader: 2 or higher
Windows Experience Index scores:

Graphics score: 3 or higher

Gaming graphic score: 3 or higher
DVD drive
32x speed
Sound
Sound card, speakers, or headset
Supported controls
Keyboard and mouse or compatible game controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows)
Internet connection for online play
Network adapter for LAN multiplayer gameplay

Broadband Internet access for Windows Live multiplayer gameplay
