| | RE: LAN Gaming on vista ?? Every November right after Thanksgiving a bunch of my friends and I get together for a LAN party. This year was the first time that Vista showed up at the party. I now run Vista Ultimate X64 and one friend runs Vista Home Premium 32 bit. The other 6 machines all run XP Pro. I guess it was because we had two machines running Vista this year but we had to make one change. To get the computers to work together we had to go in and setup IP addresses for each machine. Once we made this change all went fine. The only problem with giving each computer an IP address instead of letting it automaticly assign IP is that it interfeared with the computers connecting to the internet after everyone went home and tried to get back on the net. Most internet providers use the automatic setting. All you have to do is go back into the settings for your NIC and make the change back to automatic and then you can connect again.
