Gears of War /pc

I am playing GOW with latest patch on Vista. All hardware with latest
drivers, etc.

I have played the game all the way thru and started (on Act 3) with Insane
selected.

I logged into live today as always and tried to start the game and continue
the campaign. Hower I get a message stating no checkpoints are stored on
this device.

Help, I dont want to have to play all over from the beginning at the easy
level and then again with insane.

Thanks in advance.
