| | visual C++ 2005 redistributable. I bought vista ultimate 32 for my new build and I have had nothing but problems. When trying to install 3 different games, i get an error when it is "configuring visual c++ 2005 redistributable. this is the error i get: http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...rormessage.jpg . PLEASE HELP. i am very angry that microsofts own plugins dont work with their own operating system and I must pay $60 to have them fix it. I am not going to pay them to fix their own problem. I have spent $180 on 3 games and NONE of them work... |

| | Re: visual C++ 2005 redistributable. Microsoft teams certainly tested installing VS C++ 2005 SP1's REDIST on Windows Vista, but you are clearly hitting some kind of error specific to your system or the files you downloaded. The error is a bit vague, so you should look at the system and application event logs to see if there's anything more specific to indicate the cause of the problem. From a quick search of the internet on 'error 1935', it seems like people who have run into problems like this had some kind of trial version of Visual Studio installed. I'm assuming this was a FRESH install and not an UPGRADE install? -- Chuck Walbourn SDE, XNA Developer Connection This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. |

| | Re: visual C++ 2005 redistributable. Sorry for ranting on microsoft, I'm just upset. The computer was a fresh build and I installed a new copy of OEM vista ultimate. Can anyone help me? I am new to vista. | Vista | Re: visual C++ 2005 redistributable. I also am having this problem. I did a complete re-format and fresh install and still the same error. I downloaded the file via the link you provided and still no luck. Any extra information on this topic would be great! ![]() Edit: Add. My error is the exact same as the image that Tim posted. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: visual C++ 2005 redistributable. I am having the same problem in trying to install Acid Music Studio by Sonic Foundry. Same error and everything. I had never installed any version of Visual Studio and when I try to install it, it fails. I even tried uninstalling it, in case there was a pre-existing version in my system and it says it cannot be found. I'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| | Re: visual C++ 2005 redistributable. Situation: Fresh clean install of Vista Ultimate OEM with SP1 & new updates. When attempting to install Nero v8.3.2.1, install failed asking me to install Visual C++ Redistributable. I went to Microsoft's site and discovered that their version 2005 does not indicated compatibility with Vista, whereas their version 2008 does. I downloaded both. I tried both, niether works. This is a fresh install with nothing on it. This is all Microsoft. The 2008 Error 1935 has an error during installation of assembly ..... and ends in HRESULT: 0x80070005. The 2005 Error 1935 (same error basically) but does not provide any error code at end. If anyone has solved this beast, I'd sure appreciate feedback. -- timmer545 Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |
