Freecell

When I first got my computer ( a month ago) I could play the game Freecell
and it worked well. Now when I start to play I get the message ,

"Hardware acceleration is either disabled or not supported by your video
card driver, which could slow game performance. Make sure you have the
latest video card driver installed and that hardware acceleration is turned
on."

It is true that the game has slowed down and the clarity of the picture is
not as good. What can I do the get the game like it was and to enable the
hardware acceleration? I must have erased some files.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Freecell

Do this... "Make sure you have the latest video card driver installed..."

More than likely you tried to update your video card via Windows Update and
it borked something. Find out which video card you have, go to nvidia.com or
ati.com and download/install the latest driver for your card.

Good luck,
A.

Re: Freecell

Thanks Andy. I took my computer back to the dealer and they installed a
Video Card from Toshiba and now my computer is back to normal. I get the
same quality of picture I used to get and the hardware accelerator message
does not show up any more. I play all the games of solitaire I used to and
the speed is just as it was when I first bought my computer.

Thanks Andy for the information.

Good thinking, and I only suggested trying new drivers. Glad you had the
insight to take it back and have someone look at it. Good use of a warranty
which only covers hardware so yeah...
