go to http://www.thesims2.com

In the upper right corner of the page are 3 cubes that represent "Help",
hover over that then click on "Patches"

Download either The Sims 2 CD or The Sims 2 DVD patch depending on your
media type (if you have 1 disc, it's DVD, else get the CD version)

Download the patch, run it. Once finished try the game again.

If it still does not work, right-click on The Sims 2 icon and choose "Run as
Administrator", see if that helps.

If it still does not work, respond here and include your system specs or
make/model.

RE: Help in sims 2 Windows vista

I say just get rid of it. Its just a waste of space. It takes up 2+ Gb. I had
that very same proble. Except mine would freeze when it was loading a saved
game. Then the thing that says "Sims 2 has stoped working" comes up. So heres
my advice, get rid of it.

What size hard drive are you using? I just got a 320gig for $40 the other
day. If any new system doesn't have enough room for a 2gig game, damn where
do you buy your systems from?

If a game like Sims 2 is crashing on your system there's something
(probably) messed up with your system.

X-hollow, http://thesims2.ea.com/update/index.php

Latest patches for Sims 2, download the patch for the latest expansion you
own and run it (as administrator), then try the game again.
