| | Parental Control problem with games I installed one of those cheap but good arcade games from "Alawar.com" (Strike Ball 2 Deluxe). I am using Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I was logged on as the administrator and when I attempted to launch the game I received an error message about parental control has prevented this game from starting, please change parental control settings or log in as the administrator. I was logged in as the administrator. I checked the parental controls for another "general" user account on my system and parental controls are disabled for that user. I then logged in as the other general user and then attempted to play that game and then I received the same error message. I then installed the game on the XP 32 bit partition on the same system and I launched it with no problem. Anyone know what might be going on here? Is there a work around or should I just enjoy the game within XP. Preferably I'd like to have all of my games installed in Vista. -- Best Regards, Jeff Wernicke |

| | Re: Parental Control problem with games I just downloaded and installed another one of those games, "Bricks Of Atlantis". This one launches just fine under Vista 64 bit. As anyone else experienced these types of problems with parental control with at least a small minority of games? | Vista 32bit | Re: Parental Control problem with games I had the exact same problem only on Vista 32bit. Right click the shortcut to the game and click on properties then click on the compatibility tab. Check the run this program in compatibility mode box and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and then hit apply. That should do the trick. |
