    application ran out of memory

when running a game in vista (premium 64bit) i get this message:

application ran out of memory when requesting 1048608 bytes

i have 4 gig of ram and dual 3870 graphics cards running in crossfire,
so i know its not due to ram.

anyone know a solution or have any ideas on how to fix this?

What game is it? You might try running in compatibility mode, as well. Some
games do give errors related to memory when not fully compatible with Vista.

Here is a link to the AVSIM forum that may have a solution (although it is
more of a workaround until Vista has a patch that can fix the problem). For
64 bit, you only need to follow the first part. It works for FSX and they
have had success with other games with the out of memory problem as well.

tried it out and have same problem
i found out tho that eq2 launcher "repairs" the file
and puts it back to the original setting after it does a file scan.

Everquest 2 seems to have an ongoing problem with the "Out of Memory"
errors, and a lot are related to Vista. There have been many attempts to fix
it, but nothing solid as to a universal fix. I've found countless threads on
the subject and it goes over a year with no fix.
