Vista - Big Problems while trying to install Warcraft 3 .. Please help!

Hi gyus. 1st, sorry for my bad english.
The problem is that i cant even start the installer. It keeps saying me "No program start menu found".
I've tried everything -> compatibilty with xp sp2, 98, run as administrator etc. all this stuff didn't work.
Please help me! I love this game. 10x in advance.

try installing with anti-virus/firewall/defender turned off, also make
sure your warcraft dvd is clean and not damaged, you could also explore
disc to see if will run set-up from there, also turn off UAC, but you
should turn it on again to be safe

10x man. I tried your suggestion but it didn't work. Seems like the installer is incompatible with the OS. I was told that this is a Quicktime problem and installed it but it didnt work again ... It's quite annoying ...
I'm accepting other suggestions ...

You probably know this, but when following the steps listed there make sure to change %USERNAME% in the registry string you create to your actual user name.

Following the instructions from that link I was able to finish the installation for the most part, but when I got to the end of it and all it had left to do was edit the start menu, I got this error:

I have the same problem as u i9ub and i dont know what to do , i changed the username to my user acc name and it still doesnt work , i puted that thing to registry file but error u posted is still there... anyone have solution for this problem please say. sorry for rev old topic

the problem the two of you have is that in the value of the string you left a space at the end of "\programs". just go and take out the space and all should be well as it was for me. it's taken me about 2 hours to finally get this installed.
