Vista - Gears of war crashes

Gears of war for PC is not working, even with the patch, the hot fixes, the
latest drivers, and many different tricks.
Please microsoft, epic games or whoever that can help; check this problem.

I want a serious game developer

This is not a reply, but to add, I've experienced the same problem. I've visited, microsoft's support page, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303032/en-us, "The game stops responding and/or The game closes unexpectedly."
My computer specifications are:

Any help better then microsoft's useless attempt would be greatly appreciated. Sorry no free coupons or a 1,000 shares in microsoft. Just an undying followership or fan site in your name.

Ok, here's what I did to get it to work:
Go to the folder where gears is installed and then into the binaries folder. Find the startup.exe file and then create a shortcut on your desktop or wherever. Right click and go to properties of the shortcut and click the shortcut tab and then click on the advanced button. Put a checkmark in the "Run as Administrator" box and click OK. You're done! Just start the game from the shortcut and you should be GTG.

ok the way to fix the closing when you start the game just stay at the menu and change your resolution to 800x600 and it will work!!

anyone ever find a real fix for this ? i've tried everything solution i've found here and nothing seems to work. i have all fixes,updates and latests drivers.

no matter what way i try to launch the game it just stops working

nvm.....fixed by installing windows live standalone sdk redist from 12/08

the games for windows that ships with the game is problematic. download the newset version
