Vista - Neverwinter Nights 2 Installation

Hello, I keep having this problem with Neverwinter Nights 2. After a fresh install, I run the auto update program and it downloads and installs the patches. However, the patcher aborts because it encounters an "incorrect version of the file" for random files located in the install. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game many times, and the files that the patcher aborts on vary from install to install. There is no rhyme or reason to the random pattern of these "incorrect" files that occur after a fresh install, and the game is unplayable for me at the original retail version due to game stopping bugs. I've been to the Bioware and Atari forums, but no one there has been able to help me so far.

Have you ran a memory test?

Try to run MemTest86+ and see if there are any errors.

I had bad memory one time that would cause the system read stuff wrong,
cause CRC errors during installations, etc.
