Vista - COD4 Runs slow with lots of lag on Vista 32bit

Machine specs:

Intel Quad 2.66 Ghz
4 GB RAM
Hard drive: Raid (mirror) 15gb Raptors
EVGA NF780i SLI Mobo
Dual Nvidia 9800GTX in SLI mode

Game runs worse than my old single core XP system. I set most of the
graphics lower, but with this config, I should be able to crank it up.

BTW, even the opening menu lags.

I killed most of the non-essential programs running.

I ran Sandra benchmarks and it came up just where it should when compared to
the reference numbers.

Is there a patch or DX9 issue?

I have no problem with my rig

4gb ram
650i mobo and an x1950xt
must be a config problem. I am also using 64bit vista

Do you have the most recent NVIDIA and motherboard drivers installed? SLI
used to have some issues with Vista, due to immature drivers, but they have
been corrected.

What other games do you play, and do they work as fast as they should? You
could always try pulling one of the NVIDIA cards and seeing if that fixes
things. If so, there may be an issue with the game or the driver utilizing
SLI.

With that setup, you should have NO lag anywhere with that game. Great
system, BTW.
