| Guest | Everquest, problems with vista..UGH! ok im running a dell cpu, inspiron 531.. Processor AMD athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00 ghz, 958 mb ram, 32-bit Operating System Windows Vista" Home Premium im running on a dsl connection. Ok game im playing is Everquest, or well trying to play.. Ive read through alot of forums and so far its got me far enough to get to the server screen but wont let me past it. Trying to log into any server i get an "Error 1017: Cannot login to the everquest server you may need to re-run the Udate Patch Repeatedly seeing this message indicates a loss of connectivity to the Patch Server. This is usually temporary" Ive tried to redo patcher prolly 20 times, i set to run as administrator.. ive downloaded a patcher that allows me to get this far... Please help =/.. -- ziles88 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ziles88's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?u=52433 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=995655 http://forums.techarena.in |

| Guest | Re: Everquest, problems with vista..UGH! Ok, what Everquest game? There's more than just one. Also have you made sure that your firewall is allowing the game to connect? "ziles88" <ziles88.3bya7d@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ziles88.3bya7d@xxxxxx

the other games are EQ2, EQ:OA, and EQ:LoD (Or whatever that cardgame is called) Oh, don't forget Champions of Norrath Series (awesome). If your updater is updating correctly, your probably OK in that regard, but for fun you might try running the game as administrator, or just for giggles, try disabling UAC (from the User Control Panel). http://www.station.sony.com/support/...gory=PC&id=001 Link to SoE support for EQ. I searched the kB for "1017" and got this article: http://tinyurl.com/5upgk2 It suggests disabling firewall/anti-virus as Shane suggested, so check that out, might help. I'm running EQ on a similar system, no serious issues other than the game UI needs serious help. DAMN that game is old. Windows Firewall doesn't seem to have a problem with the game. -- -A. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
