WHEN THE PAWN MAKES IT OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE....(chess titans)

#1)
seriously,
can you really have unlimited queens? it's a lot of fun in level one to get
five queens, but lately i've been trying to make my game a bit stronger. In
the upper levels, the computer getting a queen at the last moment can
make/break the game! i thought that in traditional chess you were only able
to recover a "captured" piece.. is that not true? is there a way to turn
this option off?

#2)
i have tips turned ON and i've yet to ever see one.

thanks.

In chess you can have as many queens as you want (well 9) the 8 pawns and the original queen.

I have had 5 queens in the game. When I played in competition in the 80s, I would bring back only the pieces I lost. I would not do multiple queens.

According to the rules of chess a pawn may be promoted to a queen, rook,
bishop, or knight regardless of which pieces have been captured. Even if
none of your pieces have been captured you can still promote the pawn. Many
chess sets, including those used in high-level tournaments, come with two
queens of each colour in case your original queen is still on the board when
you promote a pawn.
