| | Mouse-look problem with Halo 2 for Vista Just recently got Halo 2 (and a system that would run it) and really enjoy it except for one problem. While in gameplay (not on menus, settings, etc.) the mouse just completely drags. My main mouse is a Microsoft Trackball Explorer and, instead of turning when I roll the trackball, it just kind of jerks some. I have to just spin the thing to get any kind of turning response. I tried a regular laser mouse and had the same problem. I have increased the Look Sensitivity setting to maximum with little to no noticable effect. I have tried cutting back on the graphics quality thinking that might have caused it. I have updated all drivers. I am completely out of ideas. Figured I would try the forum option before taking the plunge and contacting Microsoft. Any suggestions? System specs: AMD X2 6000+ 3.0 GHz dual core 4 GB dual channel RAM (though Windows only shows 3.5GB) Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card PNY Geforce 8800 GT 512MB video Windows Vista Home Premium x32 |

| | RE: Mouse-look problem with Halo 2 for Vista Received this from a different forum. This worked for me, might help someone else with a similar problem and hardware config. 1. Right click on your desktop 2. Click NVIDIA Control Panel 3. Select Advanced Settings 4. Click Manage 3D Settings 5. Click on the Program Settings Tab 6. Click Add 7. Select halo2.exe ( c:\program files\microsoft games\Halo 2 ) 8. Scroll to the bottom of the settings for Halo2.exe and force Vsync ON 9. Click Apply 10. Play! This worked for me even though I had the V sync turned on in the game settings, I aslo added triple buffering and anti aliasing. Thanks for the help!! I really appreciate it. By the way, I have an AMD/ATI system and an Intel/Nvidia system. No problems on the ATI, this only happened with Nvidia. |
