FS9 Windowed Mode with Vista

Recently had my machine upgraded to Vista and have installed FS9 onto the
machine. I usually play in windowed mode due to the higher quality graphics.
However, on Vista I find that when running in windowed mode the screen
freezes and often I have to exit from the game to regain control. The game
continues in the background whilst the window is frozen.

Previously on XP machines, I had no problems. I have tried 2 Vista machines
with exactly the same results. The specs of the machines were completely
different but had the same results.

Please help!

It's not higher quality graphics. The image is just smaller so it looks
sharper. What resolution do you set the game to run at in full screen and
what monitor do you have?

Re: FS9 Windowed Mode with Vista

Point taken.

Running on a laptop. Dell Vostro 1510 with a NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
adapter. I am just using the standard settings for the display. Windowed mode
runs at 1440 x 900, whilst full screen must be around 1024 x 768 or 800 x
600. On my old XP laptop, I ran at lower resolution and with a less powerful
machine. The other Vista machine I have tried it on is a basic machine.

Any suggestions?

Yes, set FS9 in the hardware options area to run at the native resolution of
your laptops screen. If you run at 4:3 ratio res on a 16:10 screen then no
wonder it looks like crap.
