enable direct3d acceleration

Hi everybody.

I recently discovered that my direct3D acceleration is listed as "not available" when I look at it in dxdiag. This has caused me not to be able to play many games which require it. I believe I caused this myself, while trying to get an old game called Worms:Armageddon to work on my laptop. I am not sure what I did in order to disable it, but it may have involved a 3rd party program. I have since deleted this program, as I deleted everything in the folder of the game in an attempt to fix this problem (to no avail). Does anybody have any advice on how to get it to work again? I have tried reinstalling drivers, but reinstalling directx seems more difficult on vista.

System Spec.s:

Gateway model E-475M
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2300
DirectX 10
Vista business x32

Thanks for any help
