Steam: Call of Duty World at War

Hey,

My Call of Duty World at War via steam is not allowing me to create an online profile. Everytime I do, I get error "unable to create online profile". I got to where the profile are being created "C:\Users\userName\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles"
and it does is create a folder called $$$ with bunch of config files inside it. I tried copying all the items in the folder with same name as my user name hoping name will show up my in game, but it still does not show up. Instead it recreates $$$ folder with config files inside.

I also shut off firewall, anti virus and make sure folders are rewritable.

Any solutions?

Thanks in advance

roach

RE: Steam: Call of Duty World at War

I had a problem with COD4 from steam where it did not give me a cd key
therefore it would not let me join any multiplayer games. From the main
screen go into Multiplayer Options and click on the multiplayer key or cd key
option (can't remember exactly what it says) and see if your cd key shows up.

Either way I would uninstall COD5 then reinstall from steam, it fixed my
problem
