| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Chess Titans!? WTF!? Ok this may be just me. I have been trying to play Chess titans on level 1 for 3 days now with the same result every time. I will play and get the opposing king into check. Makes no difference what color the CPU uses. But instead of moving his king out of check he will capture my piece. I do not have a problem with this. My problem is , when I am in check and I am able to make the move to capture the opposing piece I am not allowed to do so. ( no , I am not checkmated) and yes this happens every time. It makes no sense. there is no option to change that I can find. Seems the CPU is playing by a different set of rules. Why is this? Very frustrating that I am not being allowed to beat the cpu. |

I think it's you, but I am going to have to break down your message. Quote: > I will play and get the opposing king into check. Makes no difference > what color the CPU uses. If you get the king in check by moving next to him unless you want to get the piece taken, then you better have another piece covering that piece. Then the King can't capture your piece and he'll be forced to move away, unless another piece decides to take whatever piece you put adjecent to the king. Quote: > I do not have a problem with this. Lets see if I can draw an example, because I don't know chess coordinates. | R | | P | K +-------- OK, this is unrealistic, but your king is in check by an opponent's pawn, with an opponents rook two squares above the pawn. You can't use your king to take the pawn because that does NOT move your king out of danger (Rook can capture King). Your only choice would be to move the king, left, up, up-right, or right to get out of check. (You should move your king left, because the pawn would become a queen if he moved up another spot). It's OK, I still don't get that En Pasant move, or when you use it. Chess isn't really something you learn in 1 or 2 games, it kindda takes a lifetime. Ask Kasperski, or Fischer. I can only surmise that you keep playing the same game over and over again, and keep getting into the same situation. A lot of chess programs are guilty of playing the same game over and over again if you make the same moves each time. If you're still not sure, write up your chess moves and i'll see what I can do. Lots of people have cried foul with chess titans, I don't think it's that chess titans is a bad program, it's just that people don't fully understand the neuances of chess and tend to cry foul when something happens that they don't understand. -- Joe |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Re: Chess Titans!? WTF!? I need to take a FRAPS movie of this to visually show this. I have a full understanding of the game and how the pieces move including "en passant" (in passing) The problem I am having is, I will put the cpu's King into check where he needs to either move out of check or capture the piece that has him in check. Now he moves and captures my piece. becuase there is nothing behind or withen movement of being right back into check. Now put me in the same situation, same exact setup opposite the opponent. he move his pawn for example and puts me into check. I can either move out of check or caputre his piece. there is nothing putting me back into check. I can move my king one position any direction. The problem is I cannot capture the pawn. Only move out of check. Now can someone explain this to me without telling me that I do not know how to play the game of chess please? Not trying to sound brash here. I truely want to know why this is happening. |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Re: Chess Titans!? WTF!? Just as I figured. Joe is a JACKASS!. Umm yeah..... It turns out there is a problem with my program. So you can officially go be of no help somewhere else. I am not going to take the bait from here on out. So find someone else to have a big E-dick contest with. Oh and while you are busy trying to think of something witty to type back as you wipe greasy cheeto fingers on your wife beater shirt from the relative comfort of your mothers basement. That maybe it should have occurred to you to have thought of a better zinger other than... "Mr. en pissant." ? Especially considering I am not replying to this thread any longer. See how that works? I got the last word in. Hope you life goes better from here on out. |

Either it helps you or it doesn't. No need to be such a jerk about it. Quote: > I am not going to take the bait from here on out. Quote: > So find someone else to have a big E-dick contest with.
