Re: VISTA needs lots of work..

Microsoft reads these newsgroups along with all the feedback offered through
the beta feedback program. They have a target that they need to meet and the
Vista team will be working hard to ensure its ready when its 'ready'

RE: VISTA needs lots of work..

?? to many problems ??
It looks like 99% of the people are having no problems.
Others are not reading the instructions fully.

Re: VISTA needs lots of work..

Right now my RC1 64-bit is better than my XP Pro SP2: much faster, no
problems so far, all legacy, 32-bit apps running OK, my great IL2 Forgotten
Battles running on OpenGL like never did so well in XP, software that uses
Office engine for spell checking running perfectly, even .NET apps running
OK after applying SP1 patch. Avast, Winzip, Winrar, FTP clients, IE, all
running the same if not better than on XP. Mail imported all my OE6
messages, Office is running like on XP. eMule e-muling properly...

I am running Vista on another HD, dual-booting with XP. When I go back to XP
to "see the old environment", the whole experience seems like I returned to
NT 4.0 Workstation.

Professional translator, I started to transfer things to Vista just to
experiment a bit, now it is my production OS.

I know all that can end on a gigantic crash, making me start all over, but I
found it well worth the risk.

Re: VISTA needs lots of work..

as far as i can see vista rc1 is running real good on 2 of my machines here
at home.
i installed it on a old hp pavilion with a p41.7, 1 gig of ram and a ati
9800 pro,
for my wife to play with. probably put this 7800gs in there to give the
graphics a
little neede kick.
after seeing how well it ran on that old machine i did a upgrade install on
my game box
asus a8n32, a64 x2 4800, 2 gig of coursair 3500LL pro, 2x evga 7900gt ko 512
meg cards
driving a 24" hp crt @ 2048 x 1280.
sli isn't working yet but with the stock ms drivers i'm getting over 100 fps
in ut2004
with all the eye candy turned on.
my xp box used to stop at 85 fps @ 1920 x 1200 and would only run in
windowed mode.
so my view is vista is and will be better than xp for gaming and the other 3d
and video stuff i like to do on my hardware in my spare time.
good job ms
let me know if you want any help testing
