Right click on the shortcut and run as administrator. If you want it to always run as an administrator, go to properties -> compatibility -> check run as an admin. -- Paul Smith, Yeovil, UK. I think that awared PC user can turn it off. Security level will at least the same as with Windows XP. Regards Leszek |

You should be filing bugs if you find applications that don't work with UAC active. Even for those applications that require you run as administrator, you can do that with a shortcut change instead of opting out of one of the most radically improved security features of the entire OS. -- Chuck Walbourn SDE, Game Technology Group This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. |

| | Re: Battlefield 2 Couldn't agree more. UAC is a pain, its more off a pain when you first install your OS as that's when you are going to get most of the popup. When not have a 'turn off for 1 hour' or 'turn off until next login' I know its too late for this now, but maybe a UAC power toy will come out. Saying all this, UAC is off on my lappy, I will go turn it back on :P "Chuck Walbourn [MSFT]" <chuckw@online.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:453fcc88$1@news.microsoft.com... >> Many programs don't cooperate with UAC - I had several problems with no >> access to given catalogues. >> I think that awared PC user can turn it off.
