RE: Final Fanasty 7&8

You do realise those two games were only released for the Playstation right,
and that the only way to play them on vista is through an emulator?

Re: Final Fanasty 7&8

That's not true. I have both FF7 & FF8 in both pc and ps1 versions.

I will state FF7 for the pc is very picky about what hardware is used to run
it but FF8 isn't. I've had both running under 98SE and XP.

I couldn't give a rats ass about Vista and I certainly will not spend any
money of my own for it so have no idea if either will work.

Re: Final Fanasty 7&8

I will look for both of them and test it out in vista. I know for XP you
needed some modfiles to make it work good, look good, etc. So hopefully I
can still find those files. I will let you guys know over the weekend.

Re: Final Fanasty 7&8

FF7 required some "updates" etc. before I EVER got it to run (98SE or XP had
issues but other was fine, forget which). FF8 was always easy to have run
for me, e.g. basic install under 98SE or XP.

Re: Final Fanasty 7&8

Do you still have the Nvidia Video Fix for both? Last time I looked it was
hard as hell to find.

Re: Final Fanasty 7&8

I only remember the nvidia fix for FF7, never needed anything for FF8. Know
that you jog my memory I also only remember ever having it work on an nvidia
card and never could get it to work reliably using an ATI card.

It'd be easier for me to find the image of the working install of FF7 I
kept. Do you remember specifically what the "fix" did. Either way, I'll try
find some time look thru backup cd's (I save everything and let you know
the result of what I find.

Re: Final Fanasty 7&8

If you didnt have the fix, the graphics were way messed up in FF8. Like you
would see Squall with black lines; if I remember correctly.
