Vista - Need foe speed carbon

When i start this game, it stops responding after it shows the Ea logo. Hava
any idea on whats going on? my direct version is at 7.14

By "direct version" are you talking about Direct X? The version in Vista is
9.0c. Are you using Windows Vista or an earlier version of Windows?

Im sorry, i got nfs to work by running the compatibly wizard to run under
windows 98.
i am running windows vista RC1. and now my question... HOW DO I UPGRADE MY
DIRECT X VERSION? 7.14 to 9c

It is going through the install proses bet the control center keeps saying
that it is 7.14. Its not upgrading! its installing but nothing else

Have you tried running the version on the Need for Speed disc?

I have the same problem with Carbon. I have Vista as well and my direct X is
version 9. I don't think the problem is with the Direct X.

I have the same problem on a Vista RC1 machine with an ATI Radeon 9800
graphics card.

Any ideas to a solution?

hmm same here ive had that for ages, still no solution what so ever, really
strange.
