Rainbow Six Vegas, Vista RTM

I recently bought a copy of rainbow six vegas and tried playing it on my pc.
It installed and then automatically installed the two updates and seems to
run perfectly apart from artefacts of some sort flashing on the screen
during gameplay. These artifacts seem like wireframe glitches which flash on
and off the screen fast and repetitivly. I was wondering wether anyone else
had these issues and wether they could pinpoint it on anything. Atm I am
going to uninstall it and try and play the game withought the two updates to
see if theres a problem there and then try some different nvidia driver
versions to see if its an issue with the latest nvidia drivers. Any help
would be apreciated.

It probably is just down to the video driver, not much can be done apart
from waiting for nVidia to get their act together.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas, Vista RTM

Yeah I was thinking either nvidia driver or else its the patch for rainbow
six. My friend bough a copy too and he is running it withought these
problems. Hes using the same vista rtm as me only diferences being that the
nvidia display driver isnt installed yet(working off the microsoft drivers)
and he doesnt have the two patches installed. I have a 7600gs and he has a
7300gs so i cant see any other problems which could be causeing this really,
Hopefully fixed soon cause im actually surprized that vista ended up being
so good. I didnt take much notcice to the publicity because they where
moaning too much about a product which wasnt near finished yet. Oh well,
straying of the point here. Il give more infor on the problem and if i fix
it later.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas, Vista RTM

Hi John.

Not sure if this will help but I was having the same issues running the new
FEAR expansion pack on my Vista RTM box (with a nVidia 6800 card). After
searching around the newsgroups, I found a post saying that I should try
installing the latest version of DX9. After installing the December release
of DirectX, my wireframe issues disappeared.

Just a thought.
