| | HP m7674n and Vista problems I just "upgraded" from XP Media Center on my HP m7674n to Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I am having a couple of problems: 1. I have Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard and Mouse. The problem is that my screen saver never runs. I had the same problem with XP. The solution was to use msconfig to disable "ehtray". After doing that the screen saver worked fine. I have done that with Vista but screen saver still does not run. 2. When playing World of Warcraft the sound is sometimes distorted and often has pops and crackles. The distortion is particularly noticable at the character selection screen. I have updated the video driver (nvidia GeForce 7300 LE) from the nvidia web site to their version 100.54 (new as of 1/30/2007). I have also updated the sound drivers (Realtek High Definition Audio) but these changes have not had any effect. Some pertinent things: The game worked perfectly on the same hardware under XP. The machine (hp m7674n) is completely stock...no boards have been added or removed although I have quite a few usb peripherals. I have not yet encountered sound problems with any other software. I hope there is a fix for this! The sound problem is irritating enough to make me switch back to XP but I will hold off on that as long as I can stand it. Rick Schaeffer (rschaeff@comcast.net) |

| | Re: HP m7674n and Vista problems From where did you upgrade the drivers for the Realtek HD Audio? Did you check the HP website to check for updated utilities drivers for the motherboard of your m7674n? -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies - Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "Rick" <Rick@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A75607CB-221C-4AFB-80E4-9A6678C2DD3A@microsoft.com... >I just "upgraded" from XP Media Center on my HP m7674n to Windows Vista >Home > Premium edition.
