Vista - 2142 Wont Lload Help:

hi, well i have tried numerous times to play this game under vista and not
luck, i patched the game and click to run it and this is what i got.

i had similar problems in nfs carbon, exactly the same, so i renamed the
movies folder and it worked, unfortunately it doesn't for 2142, any one have
any suggestions or experienced this problem?

You're background wallpaper makes it hard to see any errors. Was there an
error there?

Anyways, I'm running BF2142 with no major (or minor) issues so far. You
probably might be with the UAC fighting with it. Did you try running the
program as Administrator ? Right click on your shortcut, there should be an
advance tab that allows you to check a box "Run as administrator" You might
also try running it in XP:SP mode.

Since BF2142 does a little spying, you might have to stop or open up some
ports on Vista's firewall. I run with all that crap turned off, so I'm not
sure exactly what is needed.

I'm interested to know why you've got RAR files on your desktop called
Battlefield 2142. Are you running a pirate copy?

hehehe no its not pirated, downloaded the patch from this website twice and
it was .rar lol, and when extracted its the the installshield icon on ma
desktop.

by the way Dale,

thats the only error i get, and i have tried all those thing and it dont
work, uac is disabled on my comp anywayz.

The "run as administrator" fix worked for me on BF2

The only thing I did for mine was alter the compatibility settings for
the shortcut to "Run as Administrator". With you saying about the error
with BF2, I'd be inclined to think drivers. What card do you use?

well i cant run game as admin as it wont let me chose it its greaded out,
although on some games i can do it.

im running a 7900GTX on a amd dual core 4200.
