| | Games Explorer I certainly think that the idea of the Games Explorer is a good one. But... Is there any explanation of how to get games to appear in the Games Explorer? I have installed Oblivion and it runs OK. I have drag-and-dropped the .EXE file into the Games Explorer as Vista Help suggests but this does not work. A message comes up saying: This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel. However, I don't know where this Set Associations control panel is. I have tried to edit the properties of the "shortcut" created in the Games Explorer but this doesn't work either (and the Edit button doesn't work). Am I missing something? Or will Games Explorer only work with games which the manufacturers have somehow set up to work with Games Explorer (in which case it isn't anywhere near as good or useful as I thought). |

| | RE: Games Explorer I have noticed some shortcuts are not proper shortcuts at all (see Admin tools for example) as the target path is different from normal. I suggest manually creating a new shortcut pointing to the EXE file in c:\Program files and use that instead. -- P Hutchison "Toran" wrote: > I certainly think that the idea of the Games Explorer is a good one. | | Re: Games Explorer I think part of the Games Explorer is still a little bit from being full working. I don't think you'll see games properly loaded there until games come out with the Games for Windows certification, which as other requirement like working with the Xbox 360 gamepad and has to work with Media Center. | | Re: Games Explorer Hi The odd thing about the Games Explorer is I copied a game, Heretic II from a Windows XP computer to my Vista computer (so the game was not installed) I ran the game and now an icon appears in the Game Explorer, looks a bit ****ty though, the icon is small and low res, but it works. This game was released in 1998. I installed Quake 4 from the original CD and no icon appears?
