Vista Tutorial - xbox gamepad issues

hi all heres a new one. i have the new bose companion 5 speake system it
rocked in xp and my xbox gamepad worked great in xp. but the problemi im
having in vista is everytime i plug the xbox gamepad in the usb port my sound
craps out it gets scratchy and garbled. when i unplug it and reboot the
computer sound is normal. if im listening to music and plug in the gamepad
sound is really bad. microsoft tech dont have an answer for me as of yet i
tried everything. any ideas guys. help

I just called support and they said the xbox game pad will not work with
Vista. When I downloaded for the controller I just get a window saying it
must be a Xp program. I'm totally confused as to why they have a download
yet say its not compatible?? Any help would be appreciated,thanks,bob
