| | Re: Warcraft 3 problem If it's your graphic card overheating in a laptop, then you'll have to log a call with Acer and see what they'll do by way of the warranty. Normally they will want you to provve to them it's the video card. But if nothign else, they will pobably have you ship it to them, which could amount to a 2-3 week wait. It's kinda hard to know those things. Not much option on replacing a video card in a laptop. They are normally pretty locked in. | | Re: Warcraft 3 problem Hi Dale can you help with this please? Halo 2 for VISTA, cant get past the opening credits Ditto with Halo1 combat evolved. When I reach the mission after the "silent Cartographer, my screen freezes up, then it goes to black, then back to the game..,… and the message appears: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered". Then another messages appears: "Attempt to reset the display driver failed, windows will shut down so not cause any damage". Any ideas please, NVIDIA Geforce 8800Gts card, latest driver, brand new computer. Desperately disappointed, the computer was rated best buy for games. "Dale M. Pl. help Find the Setup file (usually Setup.exe), Right-Click on the icon and choose Properties. Click Compatibility Tab Click first checkbox (Run this program in compatibility mode for ![]() Leave the line as is. Check "Run this program as an administrator" Click OK Now run the setup program normally. Once the game is installed make sure you patch the game to the current version (just click on Multiplayer, should patch automatically if you are on the internet). Note, you can do this with any game that has problems installing because some developers don't know how to properly code installers to check Windows versions. |
