FSX Deluxe edition failing to be noticed by Vista

I've had a bit of problems with FSX, when I had Xp my game ran well, I had to
reinstall and I did, or at least tried to, reinstall it. It is not being
noticed by Vista and when I try to get it to be noticed, the message is
Please Insert Disc. I would thank anyone for you help. Thanks laddies, and
please help me.

RE: FSX Deluxe edition failing to be noticed by Vista

I personally have not had issues with FSX and vista, however, my
recommendation would be for you to uninstall, defrag, reinstall and see if
that works. Also, while you are at it, check to see if there are new drivers
for your vid card and install those as well.

One other thing that may help... (found this burried in a readme file)
after installing the program, go to the shortcut or the .exe pinned to the
start menu for FSX, right click, go to properties, then to compatibility, and
click "disable desktop composition"... this helped make things run smoother
on my machine.

Adam:
Have you had any problems with the "ALT" key and others not working as
they should? My "ALT" key acts like the pause and will not pull down
the menu bar, Any ideas?
Thanks:

Re: FSX Deluxe edition failing to be noticed by Vista

I am assuming that this is only happening in FSX? If so, check your keyboard
mapping in the main settings screen, controls. Occassionally, when I am in
there fiddling, I may re-map a key or two.

There is a control for "Pause" (twice) in the config screens. Just make
sure they are bound to P and to the PAUSE key and that "should" fix your ALT
key.
