Vista and AoE2

Does any one know if Vista HOme Premium will install AoE2. Initially new Acer
Laptop halts during install at 4%. tried 4 times and had to use task mgr. to
exit. Tred install on XP computer to verify CD disk integrity and installs
and Plays perfectly.

Now inserting AoE2 cd in Acer Laptop I get error applet "E:\ File system
error. (-1073741502)

Re: Vista and AoE2

Re: Vista and AoE2

I meant to add, have you tried copying the contents of the CD to another
drive (flash or USB) or using a program like Nero or Roxio to make a copy of
the CD ? It seems odd that it would die 4% in, I would expect it to die
right away.

Age of Empires 2 installs with vista, but lan play is bugged.

Re: Vista and AoE2

Make sure that you have the patch - i think it is 1.0C.

That was a problem I encountered.

Also, make sure that windows firewall has AOE2 listed as an exception.
