Vista - Age Of Mythology keeps minimizing while playing on Vista

I am trying to run Age of Mythology on Vista but the game constantly
minimizes to the taskbar. The game seems to run fine after I maximize it
again but it's very annoying to say the least. Anyone have an idea of what
could be causing this?

So I guess nobody has any idea how I could go about fixing this problem???

Same problem for me too- except the screen only opens for a second and then
minimizes.

Yet another Windows Vista glitch?

I have this exact same problem in Company of Heroes and Titanquest.

All of these types of problems are really pushing me towards a macbook for
my next computer purchase. I am not a happy customer. SO MANY VISTA
PROBLEMS.

It almost seems like everything worked during the beta and now nothing
works. pppp

Well I found that many of my Vista problems (including AOM) were solved when
I changed the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) settings.

Another problem is to check if you have any "ghost-drives" (a non-existant
CD/DVD drive) listed in your "Divice Manager" which can cause some games to
misbehave.

The Microsoft Tech's in India are ideots and I spent over 9 hours on the
phone with them before giving up when they wanted me to uninstall Vista and
do a clean reinstall to solve this simple problem.

The following day I spoke with Microsoft Windows Vista tech (James) in
Canada and he solved the problem in 16 minutes.

So what settings did you have to change in DEP to get games not to minimize
all the time???
