Re: Vista problems..

Software compatibility with Windows Vista is the responsibility of the
software manufacturers.
Contact the manufacturers and see what they say about Vista
Compatibility. They may have issued a Vista patch.
If compatibility issues are found during a Beta, the appropriate information
is passed to the manufacturer for action or to ignore as the manufacturer
decides.
Also, many forward Vista compatibility directly to the manufacturer.

Have you tried Compatibility Mode:
Right click the icon, click Properties.
Click Compatibility Tab and go from there.

Make sure your hardware has the latest drivers, that may resolve your sound
issues.

They did. Millions of people have tested it.

It's the software that's not compatible with the OS. It's drivers that
aren't anywhere near optimal yet.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright
until you hear them speak.........

Re: Vista problems..

Change the compatability settings to the proper OS.
I can even run Windows 98 games, such as Grim Fandango and Mokey Island 3.
If it still doesn't work, run it as administrtor and check if there are any
available patches or updates for Windows and the game you're playing.
Hope it helps.

Re: Vista problems..

I think you have other issues going on outside of Vista.
Here is a sample of the games, I've played at least 2-3 hours under Vista32
and Vista64.

FEAR and FEAR XP(version 1.07 and 1.08)
Battlefield 1942(1.6) and Desert Combat
Battlefield 2 (1.41)
Battlfield2142 (patch 1.10 and 120)
Warcraft3 (patch 1.21)
Doom3 (1.2-1.31)
Age of Empires 3, only played like 1 level of that though (no on-line play).
FarCry (1.4)and FarCry 64(1.32)
Quake 2 (later patched to 3.20)

The Girlfriend has played
The Sims Life stories
SIMS2
Hoyle Card games

Someone else has generated a even bigger list of gamest they have working.
So step back, take a breath and give us some system specs and we'll try to
help get your games working better
