Re: Vista battlefield vietnam

Battlefield 1942 seems to work okay on Vista Ultimate 64-bit until you
install Battlefield Vietnam. None of the patches for the post-BFV era seem
to make anything any better. I've got to wonder if its a graphics driver
issue because...

My installation on Vista Ultimate 64-bit goes along through the intro movie
just fine and presents the inital player setup screen, sound and all. When
I try to click on the <use> button for the player setup window the program
immediately dumps out and Vista presents me with a "this may help" window.
Unfortunately the patch that Vista seems to be sending me to is one I
already have installed.

I too would sure like a fix for this!

Re: Vista battlefield vietnam

Made some changes and now things are working.

Make sure you've patched the 1.21 of BFV and 1.6.19 of BF42 and then change
your login to be an administrator login and all seems to work great except
for the missing crosshairs. Played sometime with no indication of trouble.
Theoretically you could just set the program to 'Run as Administrator' and
that *should* work. I'll test this if I have time.

I'll guess that the issue with the missing crosshairs is a graphics driver
issue. My card is an nVidia. I will try again once a new version of the
driver is released and update this thread if anything improves/degrades.
