Vista - help me abot directx 9.0c

ahhh anyone can help me about my windows vista(ultimate)
i already have the directx 9.0c installed
but the game RAN online keep on telling that i have old version of directx
and i must install the directx 9.0c
pls help me about this

actually you have directx10 in vista but game doesn't see it. Welcome to the

Its probably complaining about wanting an updated version of the DX 9
runtime. You can grab the Feb update from here

How do you get to install directx 9.0c, I have tried but it always shows
DirectX9 EX

You don't need to install DX 9.0c. DX 90ex has what you need in that
regards. What it doesn't has, and I'll admit a bit strange is the DX 9.0x
updates that, according to microsoft, come out every 2 months. These are
runtime files that are outside of the core DX 9.0c.

Games like FEAR and BF2142 needs some components of this updated component.
If you try to install 3dMark06 with it's latest patch, it will want to
install the Dec 05, If I remember right FEAR uses the Aug 06 update.

If those are the files you are missing, you simply download the runtime I
gave in the link and run the setup, it will update and add the components as
needed.

first of all i am james
im trying to play the RAN online client
in windows vista (ultimate) that already have the directx 10
but still it says there that my diretx version is too old and i must install
the directx 9.0c
but the RAN online is working properly in windows xp
what do i need to do about that
pls tell me cause im dying to play that game

That sound be what you need. Though it's a bit odd, most games that require
the DX 9.0c runtime updates, normally install them as part of the game
install.

Supreme Commander for example, installs the Oct 2006 first thing, when it
starts the install. You might have to run RAN under XP compatibility mode
