Hello John.
I've noticed Command and Conquer 3 has an issues with the patcher. On my
machine all the files the patcher touched lost read access for the users
group.
If you go to Program Files -> Electronic Arts -> and right click on Command
& Conquer 3 click properties, then click on the security tab.
Click Advanced down the bottom of the window and then click Edit on the next
screen you should have a box to check called 'Replace all existing
inheritable permissions on all descendents with inheritable permissions from
this object' (phew) check that OK your way back out, it'll go ahead and set
the normal permissions back on all those objects.
It should then work. 8-)
Other than this major oversight, the game runs as a standard user fine.
Hope that helps.
