Vista - MS Vista NVIDIA 8800 drivers-released yesterday

In case anyone from Microsoft is reading the newsgroups the latest video
driver update for 8800 GTS videocards released yesterday via the Windows
update for Vista do not work for supreme commander. Lockups and freezing in
this game. Reverting to the latest NVIDIA beta driver version as shown on
the guru of 3D website does not experience this problem.

Was there actually a new NVIDIA 8800 driver released yesterday thru MS ? I
didn't get offered anything for Vista64 in Windows Update, and when I forced
the issue, all I got was the dreaded 100.65 whql re-installed. ?????

Yep, I have them installed under Vista X64 and the driver version states
7.15.11.170

Ok thanks, thats the one I've gone back to as well but its a beta, out
courtessy of Guru3D or Tweaks R Us with modified inf file, and little thanks
to Nvidia. It was just a wild hope that Nvidia may have finally released a
new driver enabling a bit more of the supposed functionality of the rapidly
aging "Vista Ready" (lol!!) 8800GTS card.

I am unable to install any nVidia updates via MS Updates. "Update
Unsuccessful" after many tries.
