Vista crashes when installing games

If I insert a game in my dvd-rom I get the dreaded blue screen with an error
that it tried to open a thread that was not it's own and windows must shut
down.
OS vista home premium 32 bit
Games Company of Heroes and Battlefield 2 complete collection.
Just to add a little drama FEAR and all the Metal of Honor games loaded and
played just fine. I can load in a dvd just fine also. All drivers have been
updated and tried to run as XP did not help either.

Re: Vista crashes when installing games

Does this happen with just games or does this happen with any software you
try to install from your DVD?

Re: Vista crashes when installing games

I would have to say that is going to be a hardware issue with your DVD
player. I Play BF2 and BF2142 never have had any of those problems. Have you
looked in your event logg to see if there is anything?

Re: Vista crashes when installing games

I had the same issue with my Dell computer. Once i connected an external
DVD drive the problem went away.
