Dual 7800GTX Nvidia card = No SLI

I have attempted to install the beta 158 drivers.
When I get to the "enable SLI button and click
on it"

I am transported back to my desktop and the
existing Nvidia drivers for the two 7800GTX
cards show that: 7.15.11.5818 drivers are in
fact installed.

But NO SLI.

Can / will someone please guide this old boy
thru the required steps to utilize the SLI mode?

Many Thanks in advance,
drybones

I'm not sure why SLI does not work for you. SLI does work with the 158.18
drivers. The only suggestion I have is to uninstall and reinstall the
drivers and see if that helps.

Make sure you get the WHQL certified US English driver under the 7 series
from NVIDIA, NOT the International one.

Should work, BUT if you have dual monitors, you can't have them both running
with SLI. One monitor will go dead (this is really pissing me off), so I
had to un-click SLI as I need two monitors for productivity.

There is a small file on the NVIDIA site called NVIDIAClubSLI.exe. It will
verify that SLI is activated. (You don't have to install it to join the SLI
Club unless you want to).

I suggest you join the NVIDIA SLI Forum, many answers there

Thanks for the reply, Frenchy.

I do have the "WHQL certified US English driver under the 7 series from
NVIDIA" installed as of yesterday.
And the "Device Manager" Hardware, Display Adapters, NVIDIA 7800GTX do show
the updated drivers.

Same problem. No SLI.

Yet my WINXP SP2 2005 Media edition runs perfectly in SLI.

Still looking for someone to help me get past this troubling problem.

Re: Dual 7800GTX Nvidia card = No SLI

Don't feel bad Bones, I've got the latest EVGA P28 BIOS, the latest English
version of the "Beta" version of there drivers and Forceware. When I
installed the second card the default vga drivers loaded and I showed TWO GTX
8800's in the device manager. After I loaded the drivers Vista went to the
BSOD mode and upon restart only showed a single card. MICROSOFT REALLY NEEDS
TO WORK ON THIS prior to the vaunted release of games that take advantage of
Direct X-10. I'm really surprised that this isn't a major high priority
issue. Right now I have a $600 decoration in my box

Re: Dual 7800GTX Nvidia card = No SLI

Do I hear you!!! This is really a bunch of MS and NVIDIA Crap we are stuck
with.

My WinXP SP2 Media 2005 works perfect with the two 7800 GTX cards in SLI.
Dual boot to Vista Home Premium and all I get is a single 7800 GTX card
working.

I have attempted to be very patient with both major companies and have
decided to default to the ATI camp very soon.

I could rant on but what the hell is the use???????
