Vista - cant get any games to run on vista 64bit. HELP!

I just installed vista 64bit and when i try to run steam games or c&c 3 demo
the screen goes realy blury, if i try alt-f4 nothing happens, alt-tab jus
changes the blur to a green blur. ive updated all the drivers and searched
for answers but cant find anything. im running a amd 64 x2 2.21 ghz cpu,
3071 mb of ram and an asus a8n32-sli motherboard

Officially. C&C3 doesn't support Vista 64. But I've played the entire game
under Vista 64, after applying the patches. Since you are running the demo,
I doubt you'll find any patches.

So if you buy the full game, be sure to grab the latest patch which is 1.04
and you'll be all set. Granted, You probably wanted to play the demo, to see
whether you wanted to buy the full game.

I've run a fair number of steam games under Vista64 as well.In fact, when it
detects you have Vista64, it will download a 64bit version of the game. I've
played most all of HL2:EP1 under V64, as well as about an hour of CS and
CS:S

I don't play too many games but my old standby Unreal Tournament 2004
work fine in my Vista Home Premium 64bit.
