| | Re: direct play for microsoft games [freelancer] Windows Vista does include DirectPlay, but not DirectPlay Voice or Direct3D Retained Mode. Can you perhaps be more specific about the error or behavior you are seeing trying to run it? What kind of hardware and video do you have? What video driver are you using? -- Chuck Walbourn SDE, XNA Developer Connection This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. |

| Vista Home Premium | Re: direct play for microsoft games [freelancer] Freelancer is giving me video issues, I have AMD 64 2.5 ghz machines, Nvidia 7900 GS, 2 gigs of ram running Vista Home Premium. I"ve unisntalled and re-installed this game numeerous times and even re-installed My Nvidia display drivers, I was however getting the same issue of Rainbow six Vegas 2 so re-installed Display adapters and it fixed the issues, now I re-installed Freelancer after doing so and its still Artifacting on the screen...When I get in game its quite annoying along with I have no VOICE dialog at all. Flying through space is interesting I'll tell you that much. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can remedy this? |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: direct play for microsoft games [freelancer] To get online with Freelancer you must use the "white list" of antiviruses to enable you to do so. AVG or Avast for example will enable you to get online. Remember to run as administrator and xp compatible. Also if your playing FL with Vista disable 3d sound in the game options. This will solve all sorts of problems running the game. Just found this thread so dont shout at me for the late post |
