| Guest | Game Exchange Does anybody know of a vendor, or gaming site, that will trade legit versions of owned games for downloadable versions of the same games (or other games for that matter)? Also, if I purchase a game via download do I play that game without a CD/DVD? What if I my OS crashes, or I need to wipe my system, how do I get my game back? Thanks. |

| Guest | Re: Game Exchange Don't know of a game exchange site. But, if you have a download service like Steam. And you re-build you're system you can always re-download the content again. The files you have a right to download is tied to your account with that service and not to the machine. The appealing thing about the download services, is that you don't have to play with a CD or DVD In the case of steam, they also give you the ability to backup files, so you don't have to download 4GB of data. If you do look at the download service, I would suggest getting a dedicated gaming disk (assuming you game alot). In that case, if you lose your system disk, you don't have to download everything from scratch. You just point the installer to where the files are and it will see you already have the content downloaded "John" <john_w@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:O4d%23s9nmHHA.2296@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > Does anybody know of a vendor, or gaming site, that will trade legit > versions of owned games for downloadable versions of the same games (or > other games for that matter)? | Guest | Re: Game Exchange My main concern was the ability to both play without the CD/DVD and recover the game. Good advice about the dedicated gaming disk, I will have to look into that. Still wish I could trade in my "hardcopy" games... "Dale M.
