POGO GAMES

I have windows vista... I can get into some games and not others...example..
Texas Holdem freezes when I click on play and enter a room...same as some
bingo rooms. If I sit and watch a player during a game I can enter when the
game is over by clicking on the sit button, but I cannot just go into a room
that is waiting to play. The computer just freezes. I have Sun
Java.....HELP!!

RE: POGO GAMES

Pogo has disclaimers about Windows Vista located in various places of their
site. Simply put, Windows Vista has issues and Pogo is looking into them.
However, on Mozilla Firefox, Pogo behaves as intended.

Your best bet would be to use Firefox for now , along with the latest flash
plugin and java runtime.

Pogo will announce on their site (on the front page) when they have fixed
pogo on windows vista.

One of the below should help:

http://support.ea.com
or Call the EA tech support line
or Use Firefox with latest Java

Re: Pogo Games

Sorry about that. My dog hit my arm and caused me to click on post.
What I wanted to say is that when I got Vista I could play all Pogo games.
Gradually they all became inoperative. Now none of them work. I have gone to
ea tech support, tried Mozilla Firefox, updated Java, tried using MS Java,
and nothing works. I have AOL and ea said it was one of their security
updates, but AOL says it isnt. I am stumped. Am thinking about downgrading my
computer to XP

if this is a new computer that came installed with Vista, be careful a lot
of new systems have hardware like sound cards that do not have Windows XP
drivers, in other words you won't get sound in Windows XP. Check your
hardware manufacturer before you downgrade.

Yeah, good luck with AOL, I used to use them back when they were on v2.0 of
their client, ran great then, but the last 10 years, it's pretty hit or
miss.

It was hard because EA and AOL were in bed together, so testing those games
in all the AOL clients/browsers was a nightmare. I don't know how AOL does
it, the whole process of connecting to AOL's system seems so cumbersome.

Try uninstalling Java from your system, uninstall Firefox, and I don't know
how you connect to AOL, but if it's via DSL, see if there's a way to
uninstall the AOL client and still connect.

Clean your hard drive, remove the firefox folder from Program Files so all
the old files are gone, delete the Java folder for Sun, goto
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Mozilla\Firefox and delete those files (Gonna
loose your bookmarks/plugin settings)

Reinstall Firefox, run and goto http://java.sun.com for latest Java, reboot
as necessary, try Pogo again.

Best of luck to you, Pogo seems to be having Java problems with Vista,
probably just need to stick with it til they get their act fixed, or try
some other site.

An alternative browser would be Safari, http://www.apple.com/safari that
might work, who knows.

Good luck,
A.
