Vista - HL1 Mods - Crap Performance...

Well, before anything.. my pc is:

x2 4.4
2gb ram ddr 400
ati 1900xt

im running all latest drivers on Vista Business x64

on my old XP, all HL1 mods ran at top always fps at 85 (vsync on)..

but now in vista.. they all run at 20-70fps.. (by mods i mean NS and CS)

i have tried setting the affinity on hl.exe for only 1 proc.. but nothing..

im having similar problems as this

but if i set the game to run not in opengl but direct3d the game runs even
worse..
im clueless...

but hl2 is running so far as it was in XP (only tested CS:S tho)

if going to Vista means that older games will have crap performance then i
guess that Vista isnt really a good choice for now..

Make sure your using the latest drives, it makes a big difference with vista
See you if you can get beta drivers sometimes their better
