Vista Games Folder Screwed up?

Hello my question pertains to the Games folder accessible from the start menu
in Vista. After updating my steam games there are many duplicates in that
folder who do I fix it so they are not duplicated. Also I use to be able to
see a sort of game "album art" and it is gone as well, how do I fix this?

Re: Vista Games Folder Screwed up?

I have had multiple games appear also, and it had nothing to do with steam.

My recommendation is to click on one and if it works, then delete the rest
(or "hide" since you can't actually delete from the games explorer.)

The album art thing is a tough one, album art is a mystical process, its
stored in various place and accessed via various registry settings. Is it
steam-only games that lost it or did you lose others as well? Your best bet
may be to re-install the games.

FWIW - the Games Explorer is a great idea, but it seriously needs a
control-panel applet that can check and fix all the things that seem to
happen to it on a regular basis.

Some icons don't have album art. I think the Microsoft computer/database of
game cover art has to know the game and have an entry for it before it'll
appear in Games Explorer. There's nothing you can do about this unless some
MS-MVP knows a way to submit game box scans and information to Microsoft for
inclusion?

As for Extra "Steam" icons, what I did was right click on any icon you don't
want to appear in Games Explorer and select "Hide This Game".

I find it funny that games like System Shock 2 have icons in Games Explorer,
but Vanguard: Saga of Heroes does not (Vanguard was going to be published by
Microsoft, but they dropped it and Sony picked it up).
