Perhaps your DVD/CD drive can't read the cd. Try cleaning the cd with mild soapy water or get a replacement cd. |

That will rule out if it is a bad disk or not. Ask a friend if you can install it to their PC for testing purposes. |

I get the bsod and error message STOP 0X000000E3. could > anyone help me please. I had this problem and it drove me nuts! I would get this error if I tried to watch a DVD movie or play certain DVD games. The problem was traced to the Intervideo DVD suite which was bundled with my Asus motherboard. If you've got this installed, it's probably the culprit. If not, well, it was worth a try. Uninstalling the Intervideo suite caused its own problems - after the wretched programs had been removed, Vista would no longer recognise the DVD/CD drive. I recognised the drivers were present and up to date, but in device manager it stubbornly remained broken. As my system was barely a week old I re-installed vista, but if this is too drastic perhaps system restore would work? I'm new to Vista, and haven't played with system restore. I hope this helps.
