H2V will not start

My problem is that I have halo 2 for windows vista and when I put it in the
DVD drive it doesn't start. I have no idea what the problem is, and I was
wondering if someone on this forum would know.

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate

my computer specs are

Intel Bad Axe 2 motherboard
Intel Q6600
4GB Gskill memory
Radeon HD 2900XT

Re: H2V will not start

Do you mean the game will never run at all, or it just doesn't auto-run when
you insert the dvd?

(assuming you have installed it)
Does it run when you select it from the Games Explorer? (start orb, select
the "Games" menu on the right) if so then you don't need to worry, you don't
need the disk in the drive to play it.

(assuming you have not installed it)
If you open the drive itself (Click on Start-Orb then "computer" on the
right side), then double-click on the DVD drive (usually disk E - does the
install start?

Its possible your auto-play settings are set not to run a game DVD
automatically.

Re: H2V will not start

I do not have the game installed and it will not auto-run. when I open
'Computer' the only drives that are shown are the C drive, an external
harddrive, and a secondary harddrive (D).

I have other games installed so I know the DVD drive actually works and is
plugged in
