Deleting Games in Windows Vista

How do I delete and/or uninstall Solitare and Spider Solitare from Windows
Vista? These games have become addictive time wasters for me.

Thanks.

Re: Deleting Games in Windows Vista

The easiest way is to right-click and select "hide" then you will no longer
see them.

Re: Deleting Games in Windows Vista

Thank You Dave, that was helpful! BUT, I really want to uninstall these
microsoft games... I too am addicted to these time waster games and I know I
am NOT ALONE!

How can I delete or uninstall the games?

I've almost decided to delete the folder. Will it do any harm if I delete
the 'microsoft game' folder?

Re: Deleting Games in Windows Vista

Where it shows you how to put the check mark in to install, just remove the
checkmark and it will remove the games

Have you considered therapy? Seriously...

If you don't want to spend the $$$ or lack some platinum health insurance,
consider this...

Microsoft got in trouble for not letting people run other browsers other
than IE. At the time Microsoft claims they weren't trying to do something
like that, it's just how they do software. They just integrate everything so
it's there, and there's really nothing you can do to "remove" certain key
aspects of Windows. It's branding, Microsoft wants certain things to work a
certain way to make their brand more recognizeable.

Thus they probably made the games that come with Vista unable to be
installed, but able to be disabled if you wanted.

In your case I would try "RENAMING" the Microsoft Games folder to "Microsoft
Games.bak"

Reboot your computer, see if your system survives, if it does, great delete
the folder. if it does not switch it back to Microsoft Games. Make sure you
know how to boot into Safe mode or use the Windows recovery DVD before ya do
this.

Good luck,
A.

Re: Deleting Games in Windows Vista

I used Explore to go to Program Files > Microsoft Games. I created a Temp folder there and copied all the games to this new folder. The links to the games did not work. After rebooting my computer to make sure that I had not changed anything that affected Vista, I copied the games to a CD (in case I have an uncontrollable relapse) and then deleted the Temp folder and the games. I've done this on both my Vista computers and am now suffering withdrawal big time!
